KENTON COUNTY COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE

4-H RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. All projects must follow the State Fair Rules to be eligible to go to State Fair. Rules and requirements can be found at catalog website: Eligible champion 4-H projects, excluding livestock, will be qualified to go to the Kentucky State Fair. The Kenton County Fair Association, Kentucky State Fair or Kenton County 4-H, is not responsible for any lost or damaged articles including livestock.
2. All animals must have a valid health certificate as per the health requirements of exhibition in Kentucky for fairground entry.
3. To participate in State 4-H activities, a person must comply with State 4-H membership policy. Membership begins when a child is age 9 as of January 1 of the current year. Membership eligibility ends December 31 of the calendar year in which a member attains the age of 19.
4. Entries open at 1:00 pm Sunday, July 13, 2008 and will close at 3:00 pm. that same day.
5. Exhibitors must pickup articles between 12:00 and 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 20, 2008.
6. Fair exhibits must be picked up in two weeks at the Extension office. Unclaimed items dealt with accordingly.
7. All vegetables will be disposed as deemed necessary by the Coordinator/Agent.
8. If animals are left at the fair, the 4-H'er is responsible for all care and neither the Fair Board nor 4-H is responsible for theft, illness or care.
9. The decision of the judges is final.
10. All 4-H'ers must be registered in the Kenton County 4-H program by April
1, 2008.
11. Champion and Reserve Champion (Market animals) of all species must be left for exhibition at the Kenton County Fair, subject to the agreement of the buyer. Care and feeding must be done completely (daily) by the "former 4-H/FFA owner" by 5:00 p.m. each day.
12. All clubs must have their displays ready by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2008.
13. To be eligible to exhibit at the Kenton County Fair, 4-H members must complete record books according to county policy. They are due to the office by July 7, 2008 to be judged. If these are not done to satisfaction of judges, project may be disqualified.
14. Projects must be work done by 4Her and completed since last year's Kenton County Fair.
