CREATIVE WRITING CONTEST RULES
1. All entries must be accompanied by a completed Entry Form.
2. All entries must be identified with an exhibitor number. Call the Cooperative Extension Service Office before July 11, 2008 to obtain a fair exhibitor number via phone.
3. Entries may be made by:
A. MAIL ENTRIES: Received at PO Box 101, Independence,
KY 41051 on or before July 12, 2008.
B. IN PERSON - Entries will be received at registration of open class exhibits at the fair grounds between 1 and 3 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2008.
4. ***New in 2008*** Creative Writing Contest is “Open to the World”.
5. List of winners will be displayed in open class building after 5 p.m. Tuesday July 15, 2008.
6. All entries will be displayed at the Independence Branch of Kenton Co. Library after Kenton County Fair had ended.
7. Ribbons and checks may be picked up 12:00 till 2 p.m. on day Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Kenton County Fair Grounds.
8. Entries will be kept by the Kenton Co. Fair.
9. Entrants under 8 may submit neatly hand printed items. Others must be typed (double spaced) except for picture book category - Print neatly please.
10. All entries must have been written between July 22, 2007 and July 12, 2008.
11. DO NOT put a name on the manuscript - use a cover sheet or entry form for this.
12. Maximum word length for all entries is 1500 words.
13. Only one entry per category; no more than a total of 3 entries for all categories in your age group.
14. Each person is responsible for keeping a copy of his or her work. Entries will not be returned.
15. Judging is based on originality, creativity and language skills. Judges decision is final. All judges' name are kept confidential. Questions should be directed to coordinator.
